    I don’t think that tells you much more than the color of tie a person is more likely to wear, especially when discussing the politics of moderates.

      “… I’m not wearing a tie at all.”

      American public: “well I’m not voting for him anymore”

      People say this and then you look at voting records in congress and you see them fall in line when the chips are down. Party affiliation and loyalty is what gets you reelection funds and spots on committees, there’s a lot of tangible and intangible pressure applied from the color of the tie.

        Like passing a stopgap spending bill at the last minute to avoid a government shutdown?

          Shutdown isn’t really the party line is it? I’m not sure this is a decent example of either of our points.
