I should test this. I normally set an aggressive fan curve so the CPU doesn’t overheat, and because I game on my laptop I use the custom fan profile instead of the default quiet one. I should try using a different fan profile when not gaming.

I have a laptop that I dual boot Windows 11 and Ubuntu on.
If I leave the Windows desktop idle for >20 minutes the fans will almost always randomly flare up even though I’m doing nothing. On Ubuntu, the desktop usually stays silent, or sometimes the fans come on a little (probably due to bloated browser apps) but never flare up the way it does on Windows.
Everything by VoidTools is a million times better than the Windows search, it indexes every file and then actually finds it right away when you search for it.
Xcode for iOS development if you want to experiment with that
Hot take: This isn’t uplifting at all. Burning this is like burning a labor camp, it reminds people of what life really was back then. It’s important to preserve history, especially if it’s dark, so we don’t repeat it.
I do. I’ve had it on my bagels and it’s noticably tastier than with regular store brand butter. I usually don’t get it because it’s like 4x the price.
Any high level math or stats class using alpha, beta, or sigma as math variables: Guess I’ll die
Less reason to believe that it is than most cars that literally market themselves as connected

This is the clutch lever I think? I’ve been riding for 20 months so it would be embarrassing to get this wrong
Why is this upvoted so much? This isn’t useful advice, it’s just an insult in response to an honest question.
Plus, he’s not that stupid. He didn’t rack up tens of thousands in credit card debt he couldn’t repay.
If you really want to spend lots of money to reap the rewards from the credit cards, you can prepay them, so that your balance will be negative. You’ll also be seen as having “low revolving utilization.”
The downside is you need the money upfront of course, money that could’ve been being invested.
I used “best brokers” back in the day
I do have some friends but no relationship. I don’t just want a relationship because others have one, I want one because I have an innate desire for a relationship. I want to love and be loved, and make love too.
This is off topic of the main thread but the chart was eye-opening to me about the order of love/belonging and esteem. Much of my insecurity drives from not having a girlfriend or any intimacy, but the only way to get that is be socially adept, but I’m not because being socially adept is a lower priority on the hierarchy of needs than intimacy.
FedEx if you only need to print once in a blue moon…
“Ooh I love a good sub! My favorite part is when I get to eat the insides”
Aside from the usual suspects, I really hate Glassdoor.
Their entire business model is to hide crucially useful information unless you give away all, and I mean all, of your data. They are super aggressive in forcing an account with all of your personal information to see salary data. None of the usual ways to fix this work. And recently, they had a massive data breach because they can’t secure the data they stole from their users. I wish this rent seeking company would DIAF.
Keep it and wait for the applications to bloat up. You won’t feel like you have an excessive amount of RAM in a few years.
Wait, this isn’t satire?
