I don’t know what’s going on but I wouldn’t be surprised for it to be a setup from the RNC to help drumph win the presidency.

People need to stop with ridiculous conspiracy theories. You’ve become what you hate

At this point, is that really so far fetched?

I don’t even mind if people speculate… but to be clear, there’s zero evidence of that right now.

The problem is that even with evidence I’m not sure I could believe it’s true of false.

This is completely idiotic. Trump almost got his head blown off, mere millimeters to rhe right and he would have had his head blown off.

Some are reporting that he was hit by glass from the teleprompter rather then a bullet. Not sure how true that is.

Can’t keep the story straight. First it was a bullet and since no one is buying that it becomes a glass fragment from a magic bullet.

Because he can’t just be shot at for being a terrible person / president? That’s less realistic than a conspiracy?

It’s the US, everyone can get randomly shot for anything.

Honestly, one of my first thoughts was that it was a stray bullet from an unrelated drive by or something.

I thought that too before seeing the video. I thought that maybe the wound to the ear was because of something else, but after seeing it it seems to me that only the bullet could hit him there. A setup involving the shooter shooting only his ear would be waaaaay too risky.

My first thought was staged. Lying liars lie and train us to look for the lie.

Do you have any idea how hard it would be to reliability graze someone’s ear with a bullet?

They are saying now it was a glass fragment. Story keeps changing.

A “Showerthought” is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you’re doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

  • Both “200” and “160” are 2 minutes in microwave math
  • When you’re a kid, you don’t realize you’re also watching your mom and dad grow up.
  • More dreams have been destroyed by alarm clocks than anything else

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as “capitalism” and “communism”. If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy’s Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
