It doesn’t make sense. All the rich old men grew up with Russia being bad. Just the president being compromised should make them act. The president actively dismantling their power in the world is beyond accepable. And yet, nothing happens.

No, they don’t have to leave for consequences. If they don’t leave and don’t go to work, civilization will stop and Trump cannot continue. Then if there is a joined demand for a new election, it either gets ugly if Trump tries to sit it out or a new election will happen.
But there needs to be a billionaire leader who pays for the expenses because people on their own are stuck in their routines.
What expenses? If everyone is on a general strike, there’s nowhere to spend money.
And honestly, your suggestion sounds like we’re trying to trade one evil billionaire dictator for another evil billionaire dictator on the off chance that the new one won’t destroy the global economy as thoroughly. That’s not actually an improvement.
People have to be convinced to go on a general strike. USA spent $5 billion in Ukraine, so with 10 times the population it will take $50 billion to get things going.

The fascinating thing is that there is no billionaire group opposing Trump. So there must be a convincing argument to keep everybody in line.

Trumps giving cops everything they want… which is a country where they can do whatever the fuck they want, without repercussion. They’ll fight and die for him against anyone and anything else.
You perceive your place in the world relative to others. Billionaires have reached the level where there is literally no amount of money that will make their lives better than they are. So the only way left for them to feel they are making progress is to make everybody else’s life worse. That’s what they are doing now. As more and more people in the world in the world become food insecure, homeless and scared, they can continue to feel like their lives are getting better. Trump is helping them acheive that - the amount of money they are losing doesn’t meaningfully impact them.
If China takes over, China will most likely end hunger and they will dominate all markets. Even if billionaires thrive on misery, they will not thrive for long if the USA declines.
