I’m not a scientist, but anything that accelerated growth to make the clone the same age as you probably would cause cancer.

Maybe he’s seen that episode of Star Trek: Enterprise where they have a fast growing clone of Trip
UNSC flash clones… They come out like the original, but quickly degrade due to the process
