  • I’ve rode in them a few times, fell asleep even. I trust a Waymo more than most human drivers. Best test of its capabilities I saw was when school let out and the side road was covered in kids and parents and cars in random spots waiting for people. It stayed in the “lane”, no lane lines, and calmly navigated forward as people gave it space. I was in the car the whole time. Still there are some issues to be ironed out, but ultimately I don’t think I have ever had a bad riding experience.

  • Hmmm, my best attempt at describing it is, to feel sad or upset in some way, if you could never see or interact with that person again. And if just being in the presence of someone is comforting in and of itself. I understand that’s not the in the moment feeling, it’s very hard to describe that, although there are ways to try, chemically, personally, anecdotally, etc. And I would say one way is not wrong over the other. But I like the retrospective approach of if I would be genuinely sad or upset if this person was snapped out of existence. If I feel like something profound has been lost if I were to no longer interact with that person. Then I know there’s real love for that person.

  • I did Target security for a few months. Yes they build cases against people until it’s criminal action. It’s also not subject to one store. Rather I could just type in descriptions of people (apparent age, height, skin tone, etc) and it would search those descriptions. I could then match the person and add it to the running total. When I left I heard that some markets were rolling out an AI to track people. I can answer any questions if there’s anyone who want to know more.
