I have 2 rc410 poe cameras (used for 4 yeara and the doorbell. I can’t say enough good things about them. Good quality, completely local and really tight home assistant integration, I don’t even use frigate now because of the integration. The quality and price is very good IMO.
These look nice unfortunately I can’t seem to find them on Amazon Canada, any other smart light changing bulb recommendations? I’m also looking for rgb outdoor pot lights but they need to be completely local.
This ^^ I thought this whole controversy was because they don’t support the HA nix package BUT when people use it and their HA instance breaks…they go to homeassistant support… Doesn’t sound like a dictator but just saying they don’t support that nix package etc. ?
I have all reolink cameras. I put them in a separate vlan with no internet access or DNS just LAN access. They are by far my favourite and already have tight integration support in home assistant.
Can somebody shed some light on why this doesn’t create a systemd entry? It works when I manually run it specifying the config.yaml file but there are no systemd entries. I’m on Ubuntu desktop.
I don’t really get the rub here, JM all for separating work devices and personal devices but the 2fa apps don’t leak any info and the company can’t “do” anything to your phone remotely. The apps work in air plane mode. I also want to bet more than half the users that complain about this use the companies free WiFi.
Get a flip phone and say you can’t install it, however SMS 2fa is very insecure.
+1 they are completely local, cheap and have a tight integration with home assistant, I have 5 of their cameras.

They are nice and don’t require a neutral wire, you can’t use these on 3 way switches but they are very nice and small. You then keep the aesthetic of whatever switch you use, paddle or flip switch.
The one thing I’ve noticed is that if you flip the switch on and off really quick about 3 times it disconnects from the mqtt server and needs to be repaired.
You could also go with a zwave or ZigBee inovelli switch which are nice but very expensive. They are very reliable and I have no complaints with the one zwave switch I have from them.
